Your followers are the people who asked to hear about your music. You find them under My links > Followers.
They are yours: you can Download CSV at any time and take the list with you.
Where they come from
Each follower is tagged with how they signed up:
- Free download - they gave their address to download a track.
- Subscribed - they used the Subscribe button on your artist page.
- Next release - they asked to hear about your next release from a fanlink.
- Unknown - they signed up before we recorded which form it was.
For an email-gated download you also see whether they actually fetched the file. Not fetched yet means they are on your list but have not opened the download link.
When they are emailed
On release day, and at no other time.
These people agreed to hear about new releases, not to be marketed to. Every message carries a one-click unsubscribe. You do not have to write anything or press anything - it goes out on its own when your release is live.
If the list is empty
Every fanlink has a follow box under the release, so the list fills in on its own once your links are being opened. Sharing your artist page and your track links is what grows it.
